Reading

Christ

At the core of our campaign is the belief that faith plays a significant role in a child's development. We recognize the importance of nurturing spiritual growth and character formation.

Connection

Through our mentorship programs, we create meaningful relationships between black boys and mentors who provide guidance, support, and inspiration.

Confidence

We believe that exposure to diverse literary materials, including books where black boys are portrayed as protagonists, is essential for boosting their confidence and self-esteem.

Competency

We are committed to ensuring that black boys develop strong literacy skills and academic competencies. Our programs focus on enhancing their reading, writing, and critical thinking abilities.

Our Burden, and our hope.

Join us in our mission to promote literacy and education! The Black Boy Literacy Campaign aims to help 1,000 boys between first and third grade in the Chicagoland area reach the third-grade reading level by Christmas 2024. We believe that literacy is essential for personal growth and spiritual development, and we’re excited to launch this campaign to support the education and development of young boys in our community.
